Global Warming...Good or Bad?

Although we may not be affected by its effects directly, global warming is something to be aware of. Now, this warming trend is most likely due to fossil fuels and emission of greenhouse gases. Higher levels of carbon dioxide = higher temperatures. Warmer temperatures will probably cause problems in agriculture, increases in sea level, who knows, even problems for fanatic snow-boarders. However, this warming trend is something that has been around for thousands of years, so why is it such a concern now? What if our warming trend was reversed? Could this global warming be helping to prevent us from entering an ice age?

Pleasurable Moments...

If you are like me and do not have sex on a regular basis, I'm sure you can understand how frustrating that can be! Well, I never was a big fan of pleasuring myself, by myself.... until recently. The feeling is absolutely amazing... Of course I would much rather have someone next to me, but this is definitely a great alternative...

Reflecting for A Moment

Expansion.
Creation.
The break and descent into our senses.
Maelstrom of reflections and light in uneven spirals.
Complete awe.
Awaken, aware, the beauty, the feeling.
Ah, the feeling!
A pause.
Unknowing, and utter loss.
A feeling of gravity? never!
Galileo, Newton, all a sham.
Weightless, infinite.
Excitement.
The crack of a bat when you know it's out there!
All of this,
Just in the moment.

Embarrassing Underwear Moments...at Work

Yesterday one of the most embarrassing things that you always dream of happening, actually happened. I was coming out of the bathroom and walked by a board meeting, facing away from them, and one of my pink ties from my thong was dangling down out of my pants!! And what's worse is that I didn't even know, I had no clue. I then went walking around my floor, still oblivious, until some guy from one of those finance or HR departments taps me on the back and says "Just to let you know, you have something hanging out of your pants!" I checked the back and sure enough, the pink string tie was hanging out for all to see....it wouldn't be as noticible if it were another color at least, but bright pink is a clear give away...I would like to say that this type of thing only happened once, but unfortunately, I've had this happen before, and it always seems to be at work...there's something about my tie thongs that just don't want to stay on!! But they are fun to wear regardless...

Fish Lovers Beware: High Levels of Mercury in Fish

Swordfish Posted by Hello

I personally love to eat seafood and I am a big fan of sushi, however, I am getting a little weary about the high levels of mercury, which I wasn't aware of until recently.

The rising levels of mercury found in our waters are mainly caused by power plants (especially coal-buring plants) and is also found in rocks. The EPA and other Public Interest groups are working on reducing the levels of mercury getting into our water, but so far things don't seem to be that much better so we should be aware.

The accumulation of mercury in larger fish, accomplished by eating smaller fish that have eaten mercury, can cause damaging effects to our nervous system. It's bad enough that the fish have to endure high levels of mercury in their system, and for it to be consumed by even larger animals would cause an even greater affect.

Are there other factors that contribute to the accumulation of high levels of mercury in your blood? Well, there are other sources for mercury, which is found even in the air, water and in our food, but in small quantities, but more commonly, the form of mercury this is most is toxic is methylmercury, a very potent toxin, which is found in fish. There are also alarming levels of mercury found in fish in lakes and reservoirs in Washington.

This is not to say you can't or shouldn't eat fish, but just be aware. Some fish to avoid more so than others include swordfish, mackerel, whale and certain types of tuna.

Unfortunately, this problem with mercury goes beyond fish and opens up even more concerns with regards to our environment, way of life, pollution and other issues.

Chocolate Intensifies Pleasure Centers

Posted by Hello Dark chocolate as opposed to milk chocolate has a lot more to offer, especially to the female crowd. Dark chocolate not only contains antioxidant power to neutralize the damaging effects of free radicals in our body, but it also contains the following:

1. Magnesium - needed more by women

2. Iron - needed more by women

3. Tryptophan - an amino acid which is used to make serotonin, leading to feelings of pleasure

4. Phenylethylamine - releases dopamine in pleasure centers
and also is at higher levels during an orgasm

5. Anandamide - which is also an endogenous substance, also works similarly to THC in marijuana to stimulate pleasure centers

6. Theobromine - used to make neurotransmitter to stimulate pleasure centers

Oh yeah!
